Recovering Turkey

I am the recovering turkey.  Man, I am tired.  Well turkey day went nicely.  Too much food... too much eating....then there was some gorging.. and then we eat some desert.  But lets not forget we also sang a little happy birthday to Megan who turned the big 2!

Happy Birthday Two Megan

Here is mom and daughter sharing a nice moment.  Paola made the cake... design and all.  Very nice.  And if you ask Megan how old she is, like all women, she will lie about her age and tell you that she is only one.

The little engine that could...

I think I can ... I think I can.... I think I can.  Ever ask yourself "think I can what?"  Where is this train going?

Cho Cho

Well just look at this train.... It has disaster written all over it.  For starters, look at the conductor at the front.  The conductor does not look like she is old enough to drive a car... let alone a high powered locomotive!

But that is not my biggest concern.  It looks like there might be a passenger that did not purchase a legitimate ticket.... if you look closely at the passenger in the last car... you will see the shifty big eyes of innocence... but don't be fooled.  I would not be surprised if this passenger was carrying explosives in her backpack.... no good can come from this.

One little, two little, three little Indians.

So a long long time ago, the pilgrims came to this country.  They had a rough time, but like most of us, when we have a hard time, it helps to take everything away from those that try to help us.  So the pilgrims took everything from the Indians, and that is why we now have Thanksgiving day.

Well.... so maybe that's not the whole story, but the important thing here is that I went to my kids Thanksgiving lunch last week.  And they were the Indians.  (some of the other kids got to be pilgrims)

Serious Indian

You would think this picture was of an Indian making that noise (that they always make in the movies) but it is her covering her mouth because she just burped.

I did take some pictures... but they are hidden away in the Gallery section.  But if you are nice to me I will give you a quick link to them.  Well, here is a link anyways:  Thanksgiving

And lets not forget that Megan also turns 2 TODAY!!!!

Who's watching who...?

You think that you spend most of your time watching the kids.  Making sure that they don't hurt themselves.... or each other.  But every now and then.... when you are looking at them, they stop everything they are doing and look right back at you.

What are you doing?

Its really a bit disturbing.... since normally you think of the kids as the ones that are being observed.  But don't forget for one moment that they see and hear everything you do.  Only time wil tell what their master plan is.... I am sure it has everything to do with world domination...

Hairy Foot

OK, so today was Megan's birthday party.  And we have a ton of pictures of the fun and cool stuff that went on today.  Oh the fun we had.

...but I don't have those pictures ready yet... so you will have to suffer through the Hairy Feet!!!

That's right you heard me.  The other day, my son had asked me why my feet are so hairy.... and I had not really given it much thought.  I had to buy some winter slippers, as my last had been destroyed by a bizarre mustard GI Joe accident... (I'll tell you later...)

So, what did I buy, but some giant black hairy bear feet.

Hairy Business

....I thought I would use them as a form of punishment.  "Don't be bad or the bear feet will get you..."  But like all good plans that I execute... it failed.  What has it turned in to now?  A game.  "Dad, can we please play Attack of the Bear feet?"

I will have to come up with something more intimidating... maybe a belt or something... let me know if you have any good ideas.

Almost Two

...tomorrow is Megan's birthday party.... will the world be ready for what is ahead?  Most likely not.

 Almost 2

Look at this face.  Only a matter of time before she rules the world.

FROG INVASION!!!

The came form all sides... like rain falling from the sky.  They jumped and croaked all over the place.....

...ok ...maybe not from all sides...... and not like rain.....

...ok ...maybe not jumping .... and not much croaking either....

Croak...

...well fine.  It was one frog.... and he was just trying to get away from us.  Matthew was very excited to see this little jumper.  It was almost the size of my hand.... I have not seen a frog that large in a long time.

...meanwhile... Megan slept.  Not a normal restful, glad I am sleeping nap... but more like a "if you wake me up I will kill you" nap.  Sound familiar.... she is so grouchy when she gets up...

Grumpy Grumpy

....normally the only thing that cheers her up is candy..... or time... maybe she will grow out of it?  (I wish....)

Sophia standing...

Yes, I am ok... no need to worry about me losing my toe... or my foot.... or leg.  Sure sure... lets get to the more interesting part.

Sophia Stands

Sophia is now standing herself up on things.  She has been pulling herself up on stuff for the last couple of days.  And so starts the count down clock.  Soon she will be walking... then running.... and from there it is a short jump away from destroying the place.  I think that is the only thing that Matthew and Megan are waiting for..... because then there will be three of them... and they will out number the adults.

WARNING: Ugly foot

I apologize for this horrible disgusting picture... but the truth must come out.  I think I broke my toe.... or just very badly bruised it up... top and bottom.... I did swell up a bit... and hurts if you look at it funny...

Bad Toe

So here is what happened:   Matthews troops had already beached my Lego defenses.  He was heading straight for my power grid.  I had sent my to monsters to stop him... but to no avail.  So I did the only thing that I could do.  I grabbed the power core and jumped over the wall (the couch).... unfortunately for me... my cat like prowess were not at its sharpest.  My pinky toe caught the couch top corner on my way down the back side... and my toe did this 90 degree salute thing.... a bit disturbing.

I of course was laughing from the pain and unable to speak coherently.... right about then ... Matthew comes around the corner and pellets me with a barrage of missiles... and then jumps on top of me... thinking we were still playing.  When in reality we were not playing... I was merely laughing to keep back the tears of pain.

[A couple of days have passed .... and the toe is doing better... I still have a slight limp]

Sophia's First Drink...

...We took the kids to go see "Disney on Ice" today... it was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed it a lot.  It wears you out traveling around with three kids.... I don't see how my wife does it all the time... well I guess today she went around with four kids... (me).  Well after a long day of seeing the Incredibles (on ice) save Mikey and Minnie (on ice) .. we build up a big appetite (not on ice)...

Drinky Drinky...

We went out for some food to a wings place, and Sophia got a chance to sit in a kids chair (for the first time).... she even ordered up a nice little Daiquiri...and spicy buffalo wings.  Party on!

Sophia crawling to China...

Sophia is on the move.  No more dragging her body around like a corpse from the "Land of the Dead".  She is now starting to crawl like an old pro.

Crawl Crawl Crawl

....she is really developing her leg strength quickly.... she likes to stand up while holding on to stuff.  I don't know if she will be walking as fast as Matthew did (7 months) ... but she sure is giving it a try...

Luis Miguel Concert

Last night Paola and I got a chance to go see Luis Miguel in concert.  It was a lot of fun... more than I thought... specially since I am not that up on my Spanish music collection.

Luis Miguel Tickets

We were able to find a friend to watch our kids.... ALL OF THEM!!  ...and that was our chance to escape to the concert!  Luis puts on a great show.... a very good stage presence.  I might have to listen to my wife more on outing...
