The World According to Briam
Sophia is already trying to stand.... and isnt even crawling yet.... but its only a matter of time.... she is already saying "mama" and is only 5 months!! ....oh we are going to have our hands full!!
So I got a chance to clean up some of the pictures. And here they are Check It!!
...we got back last night.... late night.... and we have a ton of pictures from this past weekend..... but I am soo soo soo soo tired. Did I mention that I am tired? .... I should say ... we. Paola also was dead tired....
...so I will try to get more pictures out in a gallery as soon as possible... but for now I am just trying to catch up on a bunch of stuff.
My mom forwarded to us some cute Lilian pictures. Check these out.
"Just five more minutes...then i'll get up"
"...are you following me?"
"...I will beat you ... you silly monkey!!"
"...mom... I don't see the Baby's R Us you promised..."
So, you tell me.... who is happy and who is mad. This is an easy quiz.... you can even have two guesses.
In the struggle between good and evil, there is always bound to be mixed outcome. Some end up happy .... some end up in time out.... But one thing is certain, when the battle is over.... it is the parents who feel defeated!!!
...now for some will deserved rest....
Sometimes... no matter how hard you try.... you can't win the race.
So my son and I were playing around today.... a fun little game of monster vs. victim. This was one of those rare instances where I actually got to be the monster. Yeah for me!!
Last night we got a chance to go to El Azteca for a little fiesta time!! I set up a new Gallery with some of the pictures.
It was a lot of fun. Crash from 99x was there. He flew in on a helicopter. They had a live mariachi band that was a lot of fun.... and also an inflatable bouncy kid tower thingy... (I believe this is the technical name for it).
Over all a lot of fun. Here is a picture of Matthew shacking his booty to the chicken dance song!!!
Not every day is a happy day for our super heroes. They have hard days like everyone else. Batman seems in a good mood, but his buddy Spider man does not.
I don't remember what the cause was.... maybe there was an ungrateful person that he saved? ... maybe it was just one of those sad cloudy days... We will most likely never know... because the life of a superhero is a lonely one....
Be Strong Spider man!!! Just 47 more years until you can retire!!
Matthew's skill with the Lego's is increasing. It is amazing to see how his ability has developed and grown. They grow up so fast....
Today was a long long day... and I have to get up early ... so good night all. I thank God, for I am truly a blessed man with this precious family.
Sophia now being five months old is starting to practice for when its time to eat steak. Of course, baby steps first.... :-) hehe
THERE IS NO SPOON.... ok .. maybe there is. An interesting device designed to assist in getting certain types of foods close enough to ones face so that you can express your artistic abilities!!
Look at this work of art!!! It's like painting on a canvas!!! Watch out steak.... your only a few months away....
So the other day we did get a chance to go out for some ice cream, and I started to think about all the good food they eat. Paola is great about giving them well balanced meals, and never allowing them to eat too much junk food..... I guess the grandparents help correct/create that problem. So I was just thinking that maybe it would be easier if we combined some junk food with some health food, so it is accepted better.....
So ... maybe a little ice cream, and then follow it up with some healthy vegetables?? Somehow I think it might not be so easily accepted.... maybe if we do the health food first...
You would think that since Sophia is almost 5 months old, that it would be hard for Paola to have a new baby in the picture!!.
As you can tell by this picture, the news of this replacement has sent Sophia over the edge. Do you see the crazed look in her face. Obviously the face of hysterical terror or disbelief.
Now, Megan and Matthew are both way to old to be the "New" baby, but that does not stop them from trying. Megan is talking a lot more now... almost too much.... and is playing much more with dolls or what ever Matthew currently is holding in his hands. Her favorite word now is "mine... mine.... mine...." We hope this will pass soon.
Now Matthew on the other hand, is a born actor. He can go from trouble to innocent in the blink of an eye.
Matthew: "No daddy, I am not sure who did that..... maybe Megan or Sophia broke it"
Me: "MATTHEW I WAS JUST WATCHING YOU BREAK IT!!!"
Matthew: "....are you sure it was me daddy? I love you."
But I guess you are wondering who Paola's new baby is....well to make a short story long, the old Pathfinder was starting to wear a lot of battle wounds.... we recently had it checked and the repair list was higher than the car value..... Time for a new ride (used: 2002 with 23k miles).
So, if you see this car on the road, beware!!! We thank God we were able to get such a good deal on this car... and it even comes with a warranty. So soon I suspect that Paola will even out the other side of the garage door with a little love tap from her new baby... :-) ha-ha ... just kidding Paola. Love you.
(Maybe she will even let me drive it from time to time...)
I am sorry that I have not gotten a change to post much this week, but we have been really swamped, so I will have to catch up in a few days.... but for now... we have some stuff to finish up ... so I will just leave you with this picture... and more stories to follow in the days to come.
Sorry.... but we are finishing up our filings for Paola's immigration stuff... and there are a ton of forms.
Today we had a chance to visit some friends for a birthday party. Diego turned 33 and threw a little party. It was a ton of fun.... Diego cooked a great barbeque with all kinds of goodies.
As always, a pleasure to spend time with their beautiful family in their beautiful home.
Here is Diego and his little princess, Mikaela.
But the kids focused mainly on running around and driving the kid cars. I don't remember ever having any toys like these when growing up.
At first Matthew was a little shy on them, but he picked it up pretty quickly. Even Megan had lots of fun riding Mikaela's little car.
Even Sophia seemed to have a great time.
The time flew by too quickly.... (as it always does when you spend it with good friends....) ...and bedtime was calling. I wish everyday could by like this, except that it would wear me out so quickly I would be dead in a week.... but other than that... a nice day with family and friends.
A couple of weekends ago, we took the kids and went with some friends to the Center of Puppetry Arts. A very cool place, and the shows that they have are constantly changing.
We saw the real "Aladdin" story and also checked out the Puppet museum that they have there. We also went to a little puppet workshop where we all made some shadow puppets. It allowed me to find yet another thing that I am not good at doing. :-)
The kids had a great time... ours and our friends kids. Matthew got a chance to get some insider tips on how to control a person with the use of strings and a stick... I think he has plans to try this with his younger siblings.
Unfortunately.... before we left, Diego was squished by a giant puppet. He will be missed. Specially since he turns 33 today!!! Happy birthday Diego!! Un abrazo de todos nosotros para ti!
